Week 4

This week has flown by. Ive learned so much. But i feel so far away from being ready for the field. I am already half way through the CCM! How does the first transfer go? I feel like the trainer has alot of work to do to help.
Seriously it is the Spurs and the Heat, I dont like either of those teams at all. But i guess i would pick the Spurs just because i dont want the Heat to win.
It is getting cold here! It so fun walking down the streets and standing out. It is going to be so fun in the field. At first i was hesitant about heading to the Ghetto part of Santiago or Flightay. I have no idea how to spell it. But i am super excited to give people there the amazing blessing i have in my  life. I also heard today the my mission does alot of community service work. This is going to be such a fun mssion an i can already see how it is going to fly by. It is fliying by for me in the CCM and it apparenently flies by faster in the field!
Today i get to go to the temple again. I wish i could could everyweek. The Temple is so amazing. This week will be a spanish session but we will have headphones.
It is so interesting just being tired all the time. Literally we are all sooooo tired yet have so much energy. The spirit must be really tiring. haha. So I learned this week that in my mission i will be able to listen to Lindsey Stirling. So i asked mom if she would send me like a small mp3 player and a speaker to hook it up too. I think mom has an ipod shuffle somewhere and that would work perfectly. James has one that works really well and i think it was pretty cheap. So could you help mom with that? and when you ship it just send it to the package address and i think you have it. You can also but insurance on it so if it gets stolen or doesnt make it you get reimbured for it.
There wont be any pictures this week because we have email first and i try not to use my camera when it isnt pday. Im trying for exact obedience. I am so glad i made the decision to serve. it is the best ddecision i have mad in my life and it will be the most life changing experience.
Caleb Gracie Mirabel and paris are going to be so much bigger when i get home! I wonder if they will even remeber me? Thanks for the picture!
Anyways i love hearing about everything!!

Week 3

SO i have been here for 2 weeks and i already know what i wann do when i get back. I wanna go to BYU I and start towards something. I am not positive yet. Ive been talking alot with the Elder i met at the airport and he says he loves it. I feel like that is what i should do. So Ill need to have you guys apply me there and see if i get in. He said it is really easy to get into to Idaho. Dont worry about it at all. That is a ways in the future. Just have to do it the december before i get back. And if i dont get in i can do a semester at CGCC and transfer easily. Alos BYU is really cheap so i will work the summer i get back and probabaly have what i need to pay for it. I can also apply for grants and stuff. My mind is jsut so clear here without all the disrtactions.

Week 2

HEY!! Today is Tuesday which is our Pday in the MTC which i learned is actually called the CCM. So far I am loving the experience here. The spirit is everywhere. I love the fact that i am struggling with some things because it makes me work harder. I have never really struggled with learning but here there is so much to learn. Today we will also get to go to the Temple and try to get everything we need to get done in 2 hours. We will be wondering the streets right after emailing and hopefully we can find our way around and not get lost. Could you send a couple of pictures of the family if we have any. I know i have a couple on my camera but would like a few more that i could show to investigators to help get to know them.
Im sorry if there is any spelling mistakes as emailing is very rushed and i am trying to thing of everything that i wanted to say. One of the thing we do for practicing teaching is we actually have investigators to teach. They are actually our teachers but they act like they are someone they actually taught on their missions. Anyways our first three lessons bombed. Like terrible. How are we supposed to teach when we cant even speak the language? It was really fun though. Then our fourth lesson we did really well. We taught him how to pray and asked him if he could pray for the truth in the things we read him in the Book of Mormon.
I feel as if i am struggling with spanish a little and at times can get frustrated becomes one of the Elders in our District knows so much more spanish then the rest of us. I gotta keep reminding myself i have only been here for like 6 days and shouldnt expect to be fluent.
Ok so the the all the meals here have bread in them and the bread is really good. Breakfast consists of cereal not with milk but yogurt. It is weird i dont really like it that much. Then there is a ton of different sugary drinks and fruit and of course BREAD. Bread may be the DEATH of me.
The days can be really long. They start at 6:45 which is pretty late but we get to bed around 12. By the end of the day we are so tired and I sleep so well. I have only been here a week and i am excited togo out into the field and to bring thy truth to the people that are ready to here it.
So there is a lady on the corner outside of the fence selling strawberrys and stuff so we will go outside on breaks and yell "Ay Senora!" then we buy a pack and they are gone like instantly. So good.
I learned a little more about my mission. There is going to be stray dogs everywhere. Like in packs. Apparently you can go onto Google Streetview and see dogs everywhere. So i wonder if i will ever get attacked by a pack of dogs :P haha probably not.
There isnt going to be too many pictures as we are supposed to take pictures on Pday only.
I hope i dont remeber something else as i finish emailing that i wanted to tell you but i probably will. I miss you guys already and I hope all is going well and I love you all!

Week 1

The flight was rather long but we finally made it hear! One of the Elders that we met in Atlanta had and issue going through customs because he had beef jerky and they thought it was raw for some reason. So we spent quite a while at the airport wondering what they where going to do to him because we cannot understand a thing the is going on. I found out that my mission will be out in the Ghetto of Santiago so I will be in the poverty part of the city. When we finally got out of the airport we just jumped in a taxi that was waiting for us and we got dropped of at this beautiful looking house. I thought we where going to the MTC. But it turns out we get to stay in this awesome house and take a bus to the MTC each day. Ill definitely take pictures of it for you all. I need you to look up if my camera is compatible with their voltages as I forgot to check. The camera is a Sony Cybershot DSC-WX80. It needs to be compatible with 220 watts or whatever the term is. Today we will not be doing much other then hang around the house and get everything in order. Also we are on of the smallest groups of Elders that they have had and the only set of only North American. So no one actually knows Spanish it is kinda awesome being clueless with four other Elders. Hopefully we can push each other to learn.
I miss you all very much even though it has only been a day. I am super excited to start learning.
Love,
Elder Justin Johnson
